This company is a global and local success story as a leader in the packaging industry for the food, wine, spirits, beer, and pharmaceutical industries.
They are seeking maternity leave coverage for their Purchasing and Supply Clerk, looking for an enthusiastic individual who thrives on utilising their proven industry experience in purchasing within various geographical markets to maximise profitability and ensure the best service is provided to their customers.
The role also involves pursuing the best cost options for procuring these products, as well as freight and logistics services, utilising forecasting, and optimising inventory, with the following key areas of responsibility.
Your core tasks will include:
- Preparing Purchase Orders for approval
- Scheduling shipping and track orders to ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Evaluating vendor pricing for the supply of packaging products and freight services, and in coordination with the Manager, determine the best service/cost options.
- Providing excellent customer service by executing, controlling and optimising purchasing activities
- Controlling shipping activities under the direction of the relevant local and China supply Manager
- Working closely with the Manager to ensure continuity of product supply to the growing customer base by closely monitoring stock levels.
- Working closely with customers to communicate the status of orders from overseas and overseas suppliers to hold sufficient but not excessive stock levels to ensure warehousing costs are minimised without running customers out of stock.
Skills and experience required to succeed in this interesting role:
- Minimum 2 years of supply chain/purchasing experience
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to Collaborate as part of a team, as well as work independently
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Prior experience with Cin7 (Dear) and Xero preferred.
